General Information

Assemblies

Our fortnightly whole-school assembly is run by the senior pupils and provides an opportunity for all children to meet together & to share their talents and current class activities with the rest of the school. The assembly is positive and child-centred and offers children the opportunity to speak in front of an audience.
Singing is conducted and Certificates are presented.

Excursions

Excursions that relate to work being done in the classroom are encouraged to broaden the children's experiences. Parents are notified in advance and no child is permitted to attend the excursions unless a PERMISSION NOTE IS SIGNED by the parent or guardian. Every effort is made to keep excursion costs to a minimum.

Lost Property

A lost property cupboard is found near the sliding glass door in the corridor.

Money Collections

Parents are asked to place money for excursions, concerts and so on securely in an envelope before sending it to school. Please place the child's name and the class as well as the amount enclosed on the front of the envelope. Cheques can be made payable to "Coledale Public School" unless the activity relates to payment to the "Coledale P & C Association". Envelopes should be placed in the green letter box at the end of the corridor near the office.

Canteen

A "healthy food" canteen operates on Wednesdays using voluntary helpers. Children should place their lunch orders in a paper bag clearly outlining their order, the child's name, class or teacher's name and the amount of money enclosed. The bag should be put into the special box in the playground before 9.00.am. Price lists are sent home at the commencement of the school year or whenever a price increase occurs.
